BAWJ

I'm determined today to drink 64 oz of water. I just am. Drinking water is a challenge for me. Not because I don't like how it tastes, but, when it boils down to it, I'd rather have a Diet Dr. Pepper or coffee. (Not Starbucks. It leaves an aftertaste). I don't want any flava flav in my water either. Berry in my water makes me gag.

I'm envious of people carrying their water bottles around here and there and there I am...with my ever present Diet Dr. Pepper, full of caffeine and artificial sweetner.

I have this Big Ass Water Jug that holds 32 oz but it appears to be even bigger. It's got a plastic thing around it to keep the sweat from the smaller thing from dripping everywhere. I hate water bottle sweat. It's kinda embarrassing hauling this BAWJ around. It never fails, I carry it downstairs to the ice machine and every person I come in contact with says the same thing "That a big enough jug?" or my favorite "You thirsty?" Brilliant folks, eh? It makes me not want to even use the dang thing but I will not allow the igmos where I work to keep me from becoming a better, healthier Sista.

It reminds me of a few years back, my Shishter and I did the Weight Watchers at Work thing. My Shishter (not to be confused with my biological Sister in Knoxville) did very well on it. The Sista did not. Anyway, my Shishter refuses to participate in Weight Watchers here anymore because she got tired of people hollering out to her in the hall "How did you do at weigh in today?" or "How's the Weight Watchers going?" People are retarded even when they're just trying to be nice.

My favorite was when I was in a crowded elevator, and a co-worker said, "Schister.....you're not doing Weight Watchers anymore, are you?" Ummmm....thanks for noticing the few extra pounds. Jackasses.

Or the time I was telling a very petite co-worker of my attempts at the Atkins Diet. She says to me, ever so sweetly, "yeah, that diet is for REALLY big people..."

Note to self: retire the joke about "so are you thirsty?" to the those with the big thing of water..

Seriously though....

Baby steps is the way to go. When I made the determination to start getting my daily intake of water, I started off with five eight oz glasses and worked my way up. Helped keep my eyeballs from floating.....

I didn't ever drink water until I met Dennis. He got me on a water kick and now I drink it all day, every day. Especially this week. Lawd, it's hot!

The Dennis is not only dedicated to informing us about what's going on in Nashville, he's perfectly hydrated! Makes me trust him even more.

Soooo, how many times have you had to use the bathroom today?

Keep swimming in the agua.
I used to be completely addicted to Diet Coke. Years and years of the dang things. I could swig back a six-pack in the blink of an eye and go back to the fridge looking for the next aluminum-wrapped victim of my thirst for the fizzy brown nectar (whoa, I'm getting a little worked up here.)
So this year, on a whim, I gave up Diet Coke and dark, carbonated sodas
for Lent. I've had a few Sprites at the movies, but have stuck to water. Oh and beer. The beer is the reason I haven't lost any weight since giving up my sweet, sweet, nectar of the Gods (must calm down, stop
involuntary salivating and swallowing and imagining ice cold soda in my trembling hand).
I haven't even had any tea until lately and my next box o'tea bags
will have to be decaffeinated. I can tell my body is reacting to having tea. Just check the times on my posts to see why.
Any way, after this long ramble. Keep away from colas and good luck.

Malia-more than I usually do.

Squirrel-I dont know that I can totally say goodbye to the DDP's. It's a nice thought, though. Thank goodness Baptists don't practice lent. (At least this one doesn't)

I love H2O, too... my biggest problem is that I don't take the time to stay hydrated... period. Your post has inspired me to get on it. THANK YOU.
