Pfft You Were Gone

It is going to be one hellatiously, Hee Haw kind of weekend. The nice people at CMT are going to be showering us with old episodes of Hee Haw Saturday night.

It appears that most of the episodes are from the 80's, although there are some from the 70's. I want to see some Junior Samples, Culhanes and Hagers. (Something about the Hager with the tambourine singing "Here I am, stuck in Lodi again") I want to see Grandpa Jones tell us whats for supper, Roy Clark as "Claude Strawberry" reading some poetry, Buck and Roy pickin' and grinnin' and see Roni Stoneman beat Gordie Tapp over the head with a rolling pin. What a show.

I hope that our pal Chez Bez and his mom get a chance to watch so they can get a peek at his step-dad, the legendary Bobby Thompson, back when he was in his prime, when he was THE Banjo Cat. Some of y'all are laughing at the thought of those words being used in the same sentence. You don't usually think "banjos? Cool cats?" Heh. Do some research on Bobby. 'Cause he was sho nuff the coolest cat to ever do a three-finger roll. Posted by Picasa

Saaaal--Lute.

Between my Pee-Wee's Playhouse recorded episodes from this week and Hee Haw on CMT, it should be a nice rainy weekend for TV watching.

Oh I'm setting the DVR for these. It's been way too long since I've seen Buck with his red white & blue guitar. Good times.

Thanks for the reminder! My husband and I were just talking about this a few days ago...that we wanted to be sure and catch it. He better have it scheduled for recording on our DVR!

#2 has discovered Pee Wee's Playhouse. Why have they put that on Adult Swim? He's all about that Secret Word.

Salllllute!

A trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame isn't complete without a stop by the Hee Haw exhibit. The KORN microphone, the front desk of the Empty Arms Hotel, etc.

#2 and I seem to operate on the same level. You should let us hang out together and entertain each other with cartoons, but sooner or later I would break down into a Beavis and Butthead joke(#1 I order you to take a #2) and then I wouldn't get to come back anymore.

I am holding out for the PeeWee DVD box set--The midnight movie at the Belcourt is a Pee Wee movie this week but I'm sure that's past his bedtime.

You are so much fun.
Junior has copyrights, darnit.
You know what I'm talking about.
I checked it out.

Junior was one of the best parts of that show.

"Tune in next week when you'll hear Junior say....'Somebody put mayonnaise in mah undahware'". What a trip.

We got the DVD set Christmas before last and we just about wore them out.
