The Good, The Bad and The Thirsty

Mr. Smiff is home for a few days after a grueling few weeks of traveling, recording, Fan Fairing, mixing. The last month, we've seen him swoop in and out...hi and bye kinda thing. This means the tv is back on the NBA playoffs and yesterday the 3,458th viewing of "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" on the teevee.

I guess for the menfolk, TGTBATU holds the same love and attraction as "Steel Magnolias" and "Sleepless in Seattle" does for the wimmin. (I HATE The Notebook, just for the record). The guys love this movie. This one and The Dirty Dozen they could watch over and over and never tire of it, just as a lot of us women never get tired of watching Shelby die and seeing Tom and Meg hook up on the top of the Empire State Building.

The Good, Bad, etc. makes me thirsty to watch it. I always want to give Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach a drink of water. They're so bloody and their mouths are covered in dirt.

Speaking of Mr. Smiff, he has a birthday this week. I never know what to get him. You ask him and he will not say "I want this " or "I want that." In 17 years of birthdays, he has never once asked for any specific thing. It's kinda frustrating. He'll be 46 so give me idears.

Don't forget the Great Escape, Steve McQueen rules!

Does Mr. Smiff have a Game Boy or PSP? Those seem to be really popular on tour buses.

No, but our oldest son has every game system made in the last 5 years. He went through a Nintendo phase in the early years of our being married. Let's just say I don't want to go there again.

It's a wonder our oldest boy hasn't had those video game induced seizures.

What does it say about me that I'd rather watch TGTBATU, The Great Escape, The Dirty Dozen, The Right Stuff and Braveheart than any of those "girl" movies you mentioned?

Ha -- that's one of those movies that David frequently watches if it's on TV, despite the fact that he has it on DVD. (I'm guilty of the same thing with various 80s comedies.)

Now, I DO love The Right Stuff....American History and anything to do with that, I love. That other stuff is better than a sleeping pill for me.

Hello, this is Mr, Smiff here;
I`d like to thank you ceeelcee, for giving Mrs. Smiff a good laugh. Lord knows she needs it being married to me.
Actually I`m a little jealous of the chimp playing that bass. His feet look like hands. If I were like that, I could stand on my head and play the bass with my feet. Trouble is, when I sang my breath would smell like s**t!...Mr. Smiff
