25 Years?

This makes me feel old. MTV is 25 years old today. Yikes! When I think early MTV videos, I think The Cars, John Cougar (before Mellencamp), The Go Go's, Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, The Police...ah, I could go on.

Interesting how MTV has evolved through the years. My teens don't really watch it at all. Maybe if they showed music they would.

Also 25 years ago this week was this.

Yup.
And I thought Alan Hunter was such a cutie.
Of course, I thought MTV was the end all be all back in the day.
I haven't seen a video on that channel for years now.
Sort of depresses me, cause I like videos.

You know, I was never much of an MTV fan. Our little town had cable service, but nothing beyond basic cable (at least, not in our house...LOL!) so I didn't see MTV until several years after it's debut and it didn't do much for me. It only went downhill from there.

Mojo Nixon wrote a sweet little love song called "Stuffin' Martha's Muffin" which I believe summed up most 15 year old boy's affection for Miss Quinn.

I actually met Martha one time. When I worked at the Hall of Fame she came in and she was so TEENY. She was the size of about an 8 year old. She was really nice and she loved her some Loretta.

I loved MTV. I'd still like music videos if there actually were any anymore. 25 years. Wow.

And don't forget Men Without Hats..'do you come from a land down under...'..

I loved watching my little Martha, and I also enjoyed the Mojo Nixon homage to our Miss Martha.

I land on MTV every now and then hoping to actually see a video...the only videos i see are by beyonce' wannabees shakin' some serious back.

I was glued to MTV in its first couple years. My favorites were the Fixx, Duran Duran, Pat Benatar and Hall & Oates.

Did I just type that?
